The Ecosystem Service Valuation Toolkit portal was launched at Rio +20 in June 2012.
The site provides tools for translating the values provided by natural systems or damage to these systems and makes the link between natural sciences research and the implementation of change enabled by good investment, markets and economic decision-making.
The Ecosystem Valuation tools available are in three main groups:
Researcher's Library: A platform for researchers to review, comment and rank values.
SERVES: A subscription service for land use managers, agencies and businesses to generate natural capital appraisals.
Resource Library: A suite of free and fee-based communications, planning, policy and training materials for learning about and teaching ecosystem service concepts and applications.
